Personal profile

Dr. Hanzhi Deng is a Young Associate Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Social Sciences, Fudan University. His Bachelor degree was awarded by the School of Management, Fudan University, and his MSc and PhD degrees were awarded by the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. His research fields are political economy, public economics, and political economic history, and he has a research interest in public finance, institutional transitions, intergovernmental relations, state-market relations, and relevant public policies, particularly theoretical and empirical topics on the political economy of modern and contemporary China. He is undertaking one NSFC Young Scholar Fund Program and participating in three National/Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Fund Programs; meanwhile, he is granted with two national/ministry-of-education-level talents sponsorships. His articles are published on well-recognized journals including Open Times (Chinese), Journal of Economic History, etc.
