Sijie Hu is an Assistant Professor of Economic History at Renmin University of China. Her main research interests lie in Chinese economic history, historical demography, and population economics, with a particular focus on demographic change, social mobility, and human capital formation in Ming–Qing China. She is currently working on projects that aim to understand micro-demographic dynamics in traditional Chinese society using genealogies. She holds a Ph.D. in Economic History from the London School of Economics.
